Revolution

Tom (Al Pacino) and his son Ned are fur trappers. The call for independence from England has been declared. Tom and Ned lose everything they own to the mob. Everything has been seized for the war. Tom joins the U.S. Continental Army to protect his son, who has enlisted. They are promised money and land for their services. Daisy is the daughter of the wealthy McConnahay family.

The first battle is hideous for none of the men are prepared to fight the British troops. Daisy begs her father to support the troops with food. He agrees, but does not deliver what he promises his daughter. Tom and Ned run away from the war. Mr. McConnahay sides with the British out of greed. Tom and Ned arrive in New York City to work in a factory. Daisy sees Tom and Ned, and she is furious that they have deserted the army. Ned is captured to replace the British Sergeant Major Peasy's drummer boy. Tom finds Ned after he has been sorely abused. They escape into the forest with Iroquois scouts hot on their heels. They lie in ambush, and are able to kill both scouts. Other natives from the Huron tribe observe the fight, and declare Tom and the boys friends for killing their enemies. The Huron take care of Tom and the boys.

Tom looks for Daisy after he returns from fighting. He must go back off to war without knowing if she is alive. Much later at the battle of Yorktown, the Americans are winning. Tom and Ned find Peasy, and justice is served for what he did to Ned. After the war, Tom is paid, but not what he was initially promised by the government. Tom stays in New York, and continues his search for Daisy. He finally finds her. When Daisy looks up, and sees Tom, they come together. The movie ends with the victory celebration of Americans in the street.
