"The last scream you hear will be your own."

Screamers is a science fiction movie from the nineties. The movie takes place in the year 2078. The world has come under one central government called the Alliance. There is a civil war that has been happening on a small moon called Sirius 6B for years. Sirius 6B used to be a hub for both commerce and mining. Since the war, the industries have left, and the workers fight for the resistance. To win the war, the Alliance created a new weapon called the Autonomous Mobile Swords. These weapons are also referred to as screamers in the movie. Screamers track by heartbeat. To keep from being killed by their own weapons, the Alliance created a tag that emits a signal to confuse the screamers. Screamers can be detected by a noise that they make which most people find to be very unpleasant.

Since the war has lasted for around five years, both sides are feeling the toll. The Alliance and the resistance agree to start a session of peace talks to negotiate the end of the war. The top officer that remains for the Alliance is on this moon with his men. While on his way to start peace talks with the command of the resistance, he finds a small boy. He decides to have the boy accompany him to the base camp. Both the officer and the group are attacked by a screamer, but they realize that their tabs did not protect them as they did in the past. Alarmed, they think that the robots are now working for themselves. As they reach the resistance’s camp, the boy is fired upon. The group realizes that the boy was a screamer. This spreads fear through the camp because they have to worry if there is a screamer among them that is posing as a human.
