Secretary

"Assume the position."

Lee Holloway is the new secretary in this romantic comedy. The youngest daughter of a dysfunctional family is very sensitive and suffers from social awkwardness. Her father suffers from alcoholism. Having spent some time in a mental institution because she tried to self-mutilate herself. She's back in the custody of her family and is looking for work.

She ends up working in a small office that has not updated their technology. Ms. Holloway has to use a typewriter to type up her letters. Her boss does not want computers or word processors in his office. Despite Holloway's unprofessional appearance and poor office skills, Holloway had scored higher in her interview than anyone E. Edward Grey, her boss, has ever interviewed. Even though Ms. Holloway makes many typing errors and other mistakes in her work, Grey finds himself romantically drawn to her. Grey is not exactly the perfect boss. He is too domineering in dealing with his submissive secretary. Grey is strange, especially when he sends Holloway to the dumpster to locate a file. She returns, to find that her boss has an extra copy of the file. This film asks the question, can two dysfunctional people have a healthy relationship?
