Seven Psychopaths

"They Won't Take Any Shih Tzu."

Are you looking to fulfill your cravings for a hilarious and engaging adventure film? Fortunately, "Seven Psychopaths" is a great version of a must see dark comedy, mixed with well executed violence. The film is truly entertaining from beginning to end, and will leave viewers on the edge of their seats! In "Seven Psychopaths", Collin Farrell's role is of a writer named Marty Faranan. Throughout the movie, Marty (Collin Farrell) is lightly working on his script, which is coincidentally titled 'Seven Psychopaths'. He is also kept busy by his love for a bottle of booze, his attractive girlfriend Kaya (Abbie Cornish), and his rather unusual buddy Billy. Kaya and Marty are not winning couple of the year award, and the movie begins with them in a minor altercation. Kaya dislikes Marty's buddy, and disagrees with their friendship, just as Billy disagrees with Marty's and Kaya's relationship. Billy is eager to help his admirable friend write the script for his film, but Marty shrugs the idea off, with no intention of attaching Billy's name. Yet Marty makes it a habit to take Billy's ideas, and act as if they are his own. Marty eventually encounters an extremely awkward moment for trying to betray Billy's "stories" to Hans (Christopher Walken). Hans and Billy run quite an exquisite business, dognapping. The two con artists spend their day snatching beloved pets, in hopes for a big reward when they return them back home. Unfortunately, the Shih Tzu Billy decided to pick up off the street has them accelerating into a mess of trouble. Charlie Costello (Woody Harrelson), is a wicked mob leader, and is not happy to find out his precious Shih Tzu, Bonny, has gone missing. On top of his prized possession no-where to be found, Charlie's men are slowly being targeted, and killed. From his men being sniped, to his beloved Bonny's vanishing, Charlie becomes more deranged than normal, and is determined to get to the bottom of these strange occurrences. "Seven Psychopaths" is for moviegoers who enjoy a lot of involvement, and love physiological roles. If you can't handle a little blood and gore, than this action packed film is not your cup of tea. There is a lot to keep track of and you won't be running out of the theater for a refill during this movie, but it will keep you on your toes. Writer and director, Martin McDonagh, is a very witty and brilliant Irishman. He definitely had his hands full with this wickedly-brutal comedy, and the films outcome is yet another great achievement.
