A suburban family that has fallen into moral decline is the focus of this French surrealist satire. A father returns to his house one day carrying a small white rat. But the presence of this creature soon stimulates each of the family members to act in strange ways. The patriarch's son suddenly announces to everyone that he is gay, prompting his mother to seduce him so that he can return to heterosexuality. Meanwhile, the daughter begins to practice sadomasochistic acts with her boyfriend. But stranger things are yet to come when the father decides to do away with the rat.
