Something’s Gotta Give is a romantic comedy about two people who find love for each other despite being complete opposites. Harry is a wealthy man from New York who has quite a habit of dating women under the age of 30, even though he's in his 60s. He takes a trip with a woman name Marin Klein to her mother’s beach house thinking they’d be alone, however her mother Erica and her sister Zoe show up.

After a very uncomfortable dinner Harry and Marin head to the bedroom where Harry then has a heart attack and is rushed to the hospital. The doctor, Julian, told Harry he needed to stay local for the next few days, so he ends up staying with Erica. Erica is a successful play writer and Julian recognizes her instantly, being a huge fan and all.

At first Erica and Harry just simply can’t get along. Their personalities keep clashing, until they actually calm down and spend some time together. However, Harry is still dating Marin and Erica has Julian falling for her more and more each step of the way. They both are conflicted and don’t know what they should do. As a result they decide it is best to break up, on top of that Harry is cleared to return home so he does just that.

Erica later goes on to write a very popular play about their relationship. 6 months later Erica goes to Paris for her birthday, Harry finds out from Marin. He decides to meet up with Erica as a surprise. After arriving at the restaurant he knew she’d be in, he explains himself only to find she has been dating Julian and they're there together. They eat dinner then part ways, but in the end Julian realizes what’s going on between the two and lets Erica be with the man she really loves.
