Stay Away, Joe

"Elvis goes West...and the West goes wild!"

Stay Away, Joe is a comedic western film which stars Elvis Presley. The film was released to theaters in 1968 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. In Stay Away, Presley portrays Joe Lightcloud, a Native American rodeo rider who main goal is to raise cattle on his Navajo reservation. Along with his father, played by Burgess Meredith, Lightcloud decides to raise money by having riders attempt to stay on one of their unruly bulls. Unlike Elvis movies of the early 1960s, Stay Away, Joe featured only three songs sung by the performer.
