"Survival is no game"

Launched in 2010, Tekken is an American martial arts adventure movie based on the fighting game series Tekken. The movie is directed by Dwight H. Little and co-produced by Steven Paul. The movie cast includes Jon Foo, Kelly Overton, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Ian Anthony Dale, and Tamilyn Tomita. The film was shot in Japan and commanded a production budget of $30 million and grossed only $967,000 at the box office.

In 2039, after WW III has ravaged the civilization, sectors are now set up and ruled in a corporate system by mega corporations, the strongest of which is the Tekken Corporation that manages the Northern U.S. To pacify the raging masses of their empire, the corporation's leader, Heihachi Mishima, decides to sponsor a tournament, which he calls the King of Iron Fist Tournament. During the said event, martial arts fighters engage in a sequence of battles until eventually vanquishing all his enemies. The tournament winner's prize is a lifetime of wealth and popularity.

Meanwhile, in the slums outside the corporation's walls, known as Anvil, Jin Kazama lives peacefully with his mother, Jun. Jin has been trained from childhood by his mother in a variety of martial arts techniques, and she has been as much of a mentor as she is a mother to him. However, Jun mysteriously never tells Jin about his father and just claims he has passed away. Growing up in the slums, Jin becomes a hard-headed street brawler who works as a contraband runner for rebel groups.

One night, as Jin runs another assignment for his clients, Tekken Corporation's army breaks through Anvil and destroys the houses in the process. His beloved mother dies during the raid. Jin feels guilty and grieves for the death of his mother, regretting that he was not there to protect her. From the wreckage, Jin finds a Tekken Fighter ID that belonged to his mother. Curious, he embarks on an Open Call, which works like an audition to join the prestigious tournament.
