In the 1977 thriller film Telefon, Charles Bronson portrays Soviet agent Nikolai Dalchimsky, who has been trained to activate sleeper agents in the event of a war between the United States and the USSR. However, when a CIA agent named Grigori Borzov (played by Lee Remick) discovers the existence of the program, it becomes a race against time to stop Dalchimsky before he can set off a wave of violence across America.

The movie starts with a group of military men being activated through a series of phone calls in different parts of the United States. These men have been brainwashed and are waiting for a signal to carry out acts of sabotage against American targets. When the first attack takes place, Borzov is contacted by her superiors, who assign her to track down the source of the threat.

As Borzov begins to investigate, her search leads her to Dalchimsky, who is still following orders from his Soviet masters despite having defected to the US. Despite being on opposite sides, Borzov and Dalchimsky agree to work together to stop the sleeper agents before it's too late.

The duo travels across the United States, using clues to track down the sleeper agents and prevent them from carrying out their missions. Along the way, they encounter a variety of individuals, some of whom are helpful in their quest while others prove to be obstacles.

During their journey, they also discover that the sleeper agents have been activated using a method called "Telefon," which involves using a code phrase and hypnotic suggestion. As they get closer to stopping the attacks, they must also find a way to shut down the Telefon program before it causes more harm.

As the story progresses, tensions rise between Borzov and Dalchimsky as they struggle to trust each other and work together despite their conflicting allegiances. The film is a tense cat-and-mouse game between the two sides, with twists and turns that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Charles Bronson delivers a compelling performance as Dalchimsky, portraying the character as a complex individual torn between his loyalty to his country and his growing allegiance to the United States. Lee Remick is equally impressive as Borzov, bringing a sense of steely determination to her role as a CIA agent determined to stop the threats against her country.

Alongside Bronson and Remick, Donald Pleasence also delivers a strong performance as one of the key figures behind the Telefon program. His character adds a sense of depth to the story as the mastermind behind the sleeper agents and the hypnotic programming used to activate them.

Overall, Telefon is a fast-paced and thrilling movie that keeps viewers engaged throughout its runtime. The characters are well-developed, the story is gripping, and the tension is high. It's a must-watch for fans of espionage and action films alike.

Telefon is a 1977 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 42 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.5.
