In That Darn Cat!, we meet Patti Randall, a teenage girl who lives with her parents in a sleepy suburb in Massachusetts. Patti is bored with her life and craves excitement, so when she hears news that a bank robber is on the loose and has evaded the police, she's immediately intrigued. To make things more interesting, the robber has left a clue: a watch that belongs to one of the tellers who was held up.

One afternoon, Patti's attention is drawn to a stray Siamese cat who has taken up residence outside her home. She quickly becomes fond of the cat and starts looking after him, but when she discovers that the cat has a habit of visiting a nearby apartment building, she decides to follow him in the hope of solving the bank robbery case.

It turns out that the apartment building is home to FBI Agent Zeke Kelso, who is leading the investigation into the bank robbery. Patti manages to make contact with Zeke and convinces him to help her investigate further. Together with the help of the cat, named DC (short for Darn Cat), Patti and Zeke follow a trail of clues that lead them closer to the robber's identity.

Along the way, Patti and Zeke face a number of obstacles, including nosy neighbors, mistaken identities, and the cat's unpredictable behavior. They start to suspect that the robber is closer than they think and must use all their wits to catch him before he strikes again.

That Darn Cat! is a fast-paced and funny comedy that keeps the audience on their toes. The film is buoyed by the strong performances of Hayley Mills and Dean Jones, who have excellent chemistry as the amateur detective and the straight-laced FBI agent.

Mills is particularly impressive as Patti, who is both resourceful and charming. Her scenes with DC, who steals the show with his sassy attitude and curious nature, are some of the film's highlights.

The supporting cast, including Dorothy Provine as a flirtatious nightclub performer and Roddy McDowall as her jealous boyfriend, add to the film's humor and help to flesh out the world around Patti and Zeke.

The film's director, Robert Stevenson, who previously worked with Mills on The Parent Trap, brings his trademark light touch to the material, making That Darn Cat! a feel-good adventure that audiences of all ages can enjoy.

The film is also notable for its catchy theme song, "That Darn Cat", which was written by the Sherman Brothers, and went on to become a hit for pop singer Bobby Darin.

Overall, That Darn Cat! is an endearing and entertaining film that is sure to leave audiences smiling. Its combination of humor, suspense, and heart make it a classic Disney film that will continue to delight viewers for generations to come.
