The Blood of Heroes

"When juggers play there is only one way to live - THE HARD WAY!"

The Blood Of Heroes is set in the post-apocalypse world after many wars were waged over the course of the 20th Century. Many of the people live in towns known as “dog towns” or “market towns.” The people living in these towns scrounge for crops while raising dogs for food and trading items from the past. A sport known as “The Game” is intriguing to many of the world’s citizens. The Game is a sport involving two teams of five using a dog skull. The object of the game is to score as many goals possible with the dog skull. The sport is played by teams who are known as juggers. One group of juggers constantly competes with local teams. Despite their status as professional athletes, they make a living through payment from the town people when they defeat a local team. They receive a trophy, which resembles a dog skull.

Meanwhile, in The Nine Cities, the affluent members of the aristocracy reside. In The Nine Cities, each city has its own team of juggers in an organization named “The League.” Members of The League live the same lives as the aristocrats. One team in the league is made up of Sallow, Dog-Boy, Mbulu, Big Cimber, and Young Gar. Sallow is the team’s captain and has experience playing in the League of Nine Cities. However, due to an affair with an Overload’s concubine, he was banished. However, a peasant girl named Kidda joins the team after an impressive performance. Sallow challenges the league in hopes to be forgiven of his past.

However, The Game in the Nine Cities has since changed. The Game has not only become more of a game of victory and honor, but it becomes more of a game of survival. The Game’s rules have changed, but Sallow manages to overcome his past after defeating his opponents.
