Watch The Conspirator

The film Conspirator is a movie that was released in 2010. This film was directed by Robert Redford. This movie tells the story of Mary Surratt who was the first woman to be executed inside of the United States. She was said to be a conspirator in the assissination of Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was said to be assassinated by John Wilkes Booth however there were eight people who were said to have met and conspired to kill Abraham Lincoln. The people who were arrested were said to not only have conspired to kill him but also members of his staff such as the Vice President and Secretary of State. The woman who ran the boarding house where these conspirators met was charged as being a part of the conspiracy.

The backdrop of this movie was set in the early years of the Civil War. During this time period, she would be sent to prison with everyone believing that she is guilty. Everyone believes her to be guilty including her lawyer, at first until he finds some evidence to prove that she is telling the truth. The new lawyer will be known as Fredrick Aiken who is only 27 years old.

When he first took the job of representing her he did so with the idea that she was guilty but as he went on, he went on to believe her innocence. He soon discovers that she is the bait for the conspiracy and will attempt to get her released from prison by proving that she was innocent. During this stage another member of the conspiracy will escape prison and cause a manhunt to begin.

During this movie you will see the nation fight during the Civil War and will see her lawyer injured during the war. A Union Soldier will come to the rescue of the lawyer and will work to save his life. During the movie, you will see the lawyer fight in order to get the woman out of jail and proved innocent while the other conspiracy members fight to save their own lives and prove their innocent of conspiring to kill the President.
