The Killing Room is a psychological thriller released in 2009 starring Nick Cannon, Clea DuVall, and Timothy Hutton. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, this movie follows a group of four strangers who are participating in a psychological research study in hopes of earning some extra money. The movie begins with Emily (Clea DuVall) being brought into the testing facility and assigned to Room 4 with Tony (Nick Cannon), Paul (Shea Whigham), and Crawford (Peter Stormare). They are told that they will be participating in a paid research study, but they are not given any information about what the study will be testing. The participants are asked to fill out a lengthy questionnaire and are then left alone in the room to wait for further instructions.

As the hours pass, tensions rise among the participants. Tony becomes increasingly agitated and begins to challenge the validity of the study. Paul is quiet and withdrawn, while Crawford appears calm and collected. Emily is the only one who seems curious and eager to participate in the study.

Suddenly, the door to the room opens, and a group of scientists enter to begin the study. The participants are informed that they will be divided into two groups, with two people in each group. The two groups will be placed in different rooms, and each group will have to complete a series of tasks to earn points. At the end of the study, the group with the highest number of points will win a substantial cash prize.

As the study progresses, it becomes apparent that there is something sinister going on. The tasks become increasingly bizarre and challenging, and the participants are pushed to their limits both physically and mentally. The group is constantly monitored by the scientists, and any attempt to deviate from the study's guidelines results in harsh consequences.

As the study wears on, the participants begin to unravel. Tony becomes increasingly erratic and violent, while Crawford remains calm and calculating. Emily and Paul form an unlikely alliance and begin to work together to solve the study's increasingly complex puzzles.

Throughout the movie, there are flashbacks to the scientists planning the study and discussing their motivations for conducting such a dangerous and unethical experiment. It is revealed that the study is not what it seems, and the scientists have a hidden agenda that goes beyond simple research.

The movie is shot in a claustrophobic and intense way, with the majority of the action taking place in Room 4. The tension is high throughout the film, and the audience is left guessing until the final moments about the true nature of the study.

Overall, The Killing Room is a gripping and suspenseful movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The performances by the cast are strong, with Nick Cannon delivering a standout performance as the volatile Tony. The plot is complex and thought-provoking, and the movie raises important questions about the ethics of psychological research. Whether you are a fan of psychological thrillers or looking for a movie that will keep you guessing until the end, The Killing Room is definitely worth a watch.
