The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

"The eye of the enemy is moving."

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, is the final installment of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, starring Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen and Ian McKellen. Directed by Peter Jackson, it wraps up the epic tale of Frodo, Sauron and the Ring. Frodo and Sam have been led to a dangerous mountain-side cave that Gollum has assured them is the safest way into Mordor. However, a giant, ancient and hungry spider lives in the cave. After a falling out, Frodo carries on with Gollum, leaving Sam to turn back for home. Lucky for Frodo, Sam smells a rat and follows Frodo. Frodo gets stung by the giant spider. Sam, upon finding his friend, believes he is dead. Taking the ring, Sam is determined to finish the task they set out to start. But soon orcs find Frodo. The orcs are familiar with the giant spider and realize that Frodo is merely stunned, not dead. They capture him and take him to the top of a guard tower.

Meanwhile, Aragorn and the others have plenty to do. There is a giant battle being waged at Minas Tirith. The whole of Gondor is trying to protect the city. However, a giant company of orcs, wild men, and a variety of creatures has gathered outside the walls and are waging war. The steward of Gondor is not at all pleased to have Aragorn return. He does not want to be replaced as the leader. Eventually the steward goes insane, and Gandalf takes charge. It is not looking good for Gondor. Aragorn is not with them at the battle. He has taken an ancient path and has to seek the loyalty of a host of ghosts who had betrayed an ancestor of Aragorn's. He tells them he will set them free if they will help with this battle. He wins their allegiance and brings them to Minis Tirith. With their help they can win the battle.

However, the fate of the world still rests on whether or not Sam and Frodo can destroy the ring in Mt. Doom.
