"What kind of freakazoid would let someone hunt him just for $50.000… Next question."

The Pest is a comedy based on the short story "The Most Dangerous Game." The plot centers on comedian John Leguizamo being used as human prey for a hunting expedition run by a former Nazi, who has systematically hunted and killed every ethnic group for his collection and now he is after a Puerto Rican to make the collection complete.

The reason that he even agrees to be hunted in the first place is that he is a con artist who owes a considerable amount of money to some loan sharks that threaten to break his legs unless he pays off the debt within the next few days. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth and to maintain the use of his legs; he agrees to take an extremely high-paying job for one day's worth of work.

He is completely unaware as to exactly what this job entails, all he knows is that it is $50,000, which will square his debt. It is not until he arrives on a private island of this eccentric German individual that he is told he will be hunted like wild game and must survive for at least 24 hours.

With no other choice other than his legs being broken by the Scottish Mafia, he agrees and tries to survive for a period of 24 hours. He is chased all over the island, which is set up to look like little Germany. He is miraculously able to survive under extremely lucky circumstances for the 24 hours, he gets the $50,000 and pays off his debt to the Scottish Mafia.
