"Two tiny agents vs. the world's wickedest woman in a dazzling animated adventure!"

The 1977 Disney animated movie “The Rescuers” was Walt Disney’s 23rd animated film to hit the box office. The movie was released on June 22, 1977 and was considered Disney’s most successful film at that time. The film had two other theatrical releases in 1983 and 1989. The movie has an all-star cast of actors lending their voices to the characters. Some of the actors include Bob Newhart as the voice of Bernard, Eva Gabor as Miss Bianca and Geraldine Page as the evil Madame Medusa.

The plot for “The Rescuers” was based off the novel by Margery Sharp but there were several differences between the two plots. Many of the characters have different names and some characters were missing entirely while others were added for the Disney film.

In “The Rescuers,” a young girl named Penny sends off a message in a bottle for help because she is in trouble. The mice over at the Rescue Aid Society receive it and they send their best agent, Miss Bianca to help. She enlists the help of Bernard, who is a bit of a coward though he agrees to go to help the girl.

The two mice find out that Penny is an orphan and that a woman named Madam Medusa has kidnapped her. They head to Louisiana in the hopes of rescuing her. They meet up with a bird named Orville who helps them get there. When they get to where Penny is being held, they work together with a team of local critters to stop Medusa’s plans and free Penny.

While they are attempting to escape with Penny, Medusa and her assistant Mr. Snoops cause all kinds of chaos to prevent them from getting away. It is up to Miss Bianca and Bernard to stop them and get themselves as well as young Penny out of danger and back to New York.
