Perhaps where the most violence takes place is where most of the drugs in the United States of America originate. That of course, is Mexico. Major drug cartels run the illicit drug trade from the ground up in Mexico and are responsible for manufacturing, packing, and smuggling. Through this process many people are killed and the film accurately depicts the violent nature and the risks involved in the lucrative drug trade that draws so many people in. On the other side of the equation are the many hands that it changes from bigger dealers to smaller dealers, and right down to the every day average street user. Along with this is depicted a Politicians view on the matter as he is involved and reaps benefits from allowing and helping along the illicit drug trade.
Traffic offers a widespread understanding of the processes that it takes to get drugs into the United States. There is more violence and more people involved then it may appear on the outside and this film captures it beautifully.
