Two Can Play That Game

Made in 2001 the movie, Two Can Play That Game, was written/directed by Mark Brown. The film stars Vivica A. Fox, Morris Chestnut and Anthony Anderson, has an R rating and run 1 hour and 30 minutes. Two Can Play That Game centers around Shante Smith, played by Vivica A. Fox, and her boyfriend Keith Fenton, played by Morris Chestnut. Fenton is a lawyer while Smith advises women on how to make their men toe the line.

The story unfolds when Smith thinks she has caught her boyfriend stepping out on her with a woman from the law office where he works and is looking to stray. Not one to allow a man to play games, she sets about using the advice she gives other women, to get Fenton back under control. She has a good education and feels she knows all the tricks a man might use. Armed with her knowledge of men Smith opens her bag of tricks and begins putting Fenton in his place.

What Smith did not count on is Fenton knowing what she is up to and having a few tricks of his own. Fenton's friend Keith, played by Anthony Anderson, believes he knows all there is to know about women as well and joins in the fray, helping his friend battle the mind games Smith is playing.

The couple, with the aid of Keith, play out their battle of the wits much to the detriment of their relationship. The back and forth, attempts to out smart and out maneuver each other, continue through out most of the film. Eventually they do figure out their problems and are happily reunited.

On the weekend of the release of Two Can Play That Game, it ranked number 2 with an opening box office take of $7.7 million dollars. the film was popular enough to have spawned one sequel, though it was a straight to video release
