Watch Welcome to the Rileys

Welcome to the Rileys is an independent drama starring Kristen Stewart, Melissa Leo and James Gandolphini. This movie runs for approximately two hours and contains some adult themes and language. This film was written by Ken Hixon and directed by Jake Scott. After the death of their daughter Emily, Lois and Doug Riley have been growing apart. Lois, suffering from guilt, starts to become depressed and withdraws from society. She only speaks to her sister and pastor. Never leaving the house, she even calls on hairdressers to visit her in her home. Doug, on the other hand, has an affair with a waitress named Vivian. When Vivian dies, Doug ends up in a strip club while on a business trip in New Orleans and meets Mallory, a sixteen-year-old stripper.

Doug, realizing that his life is at a crossroads, offers to pay Mallory $100 a day to live with him until he gets his life together. She agrees, and he soon calls Lois, telling her that he is not coming home. After awhile, Mallory and Doug begin a sort of domestic life.

Lois, realizing that she needs to act if she wishes to save her marriage, overcomes her fear of leaving the house and travels south to meet up with her husband. After finding out that he is living with Mallory, Lois is at first disgusted. She then warms up to Mallory due to her similarities to their deceased daughter. The three begin to live as a sort of unconventional family.

Lois tries to help Mallory change her life but doesn't succeed. Mallory is arrested, and Doug and Lois bail her out. Doug and Lois realize that they can no longer use Mallory as a substitute for their dead daughter and return home. Mallory calls them one last time to tell of her future plans, and the Rileys offer her their support. The Rileys start to live again.
