Watch Where Eagles Dare

Where Eagles Dare is the 1968 WWII war action film that was directed by Brian G. Hutton, and has an all-star cast. The film centers around a daring raid to rescue an American general who is being held behind enemy lines. When U.S. Army General Carnaby (Robert Beatty) is captured by the Germans, he is taken to a Bavarian fortress in the Alps for interrogation. A mission is put in place to drop a group of paratroopers led by Major John Smith (Richard Burton) and Army Ranger Morris Schaffer (Clint Eastwood) to infiltrate the fortress and rescue Beatty before he is debriefed or killed. British MI6 Agent Mary Elison (Mary Ure) joins the troopers for the deadly mission. After two agents are killed, Schaffer is able to transmit signals to top staff members. After Smith and Schaffer are separated from other commandos, they kill their captors and escape. The duo are able to successfuly bomb the supply depot and escape by cable car.

In the meantime, Mary is brought to the castle by another deep cover MI6 Agent Heidi (Ingrid Pitt), who is posing as a bar maid. Smith and Schaffer are able to reach the castle with the help of Mary. When the duo breaks through the area where Beatty is being held, it is revealed that the purpose of the entire operation is to find out the identities of German spies who have infiltrated British intelligence. Mary prepares the explosives while Schaffer and Smith are with the Germans. The duo are able to kill the German officers by machine gunning their way out. A gun battle ensues as Smith, Schaffer, Mary and other soldiers attempt to escape. After the escape plane in in the air, Schaffer reveals that Col. Wyatt Turner (Patrick Wymark) is a double agent and Nazi spy. Turner attempts to shoot Smith but realizes the gun pin has been removed. He kills himself by jumping from the plane. The movie ends with Schaffer and Smith exchanging pleasantries.
