"There Are Worse Things Than Dying"

The movie begins with Emily Blunt, girl, taking the advice of a text she receives to join a ride share program so that she doesn’t have to ride the bus home for Christmas. When she arrives she finds her ride mate asleep, then when he opens the trunk it is full of his own personal belongings. Girl rearranges the trunk and as they leave the parking lot you see a big bag that Girl left behind. As they head out of town there are eerie moments when Girl realizes that Guy, played by Ashton Holmes seems to know more about her than he should.

Guy decides to take the scenic route and that is where the nightmare for these two totally different college students begins. Guys car is ran off of the road as night falls and the temperature starts to plummet. Unable to get the car started it’s not long before the two teens realize that they aren’t alone on the dark and desolate road. The problem is that the people who are with them are no longer alive. To make matters worse they quickly realize that the bag Girl left behind was food that Guy had packed before the trip.

The mismatched couple soon realizes that they have somehow stumbled across a short cut that is peppered with people who died there in accidents, only these weren’t just accidents. It seems that a rouge policeman in the 1950’s went on a killing spree along this road and Guy and Girl are doomed to become his next victims. The ghosts of the motorists he killed, before and after he died, haunt the lonely stretch of road and the couple see their gruesome deaths as the night progresses.
