Former 'Bachelor' Winner Emily Maynard To Be Next 'Bachelorette'?

Former 'Bachelor' Winner Emily Maynard To Be Next 'Bachelorette'? Well, this is the Internet. I shouldn't be that surprised that word gets around fast.

"The Bachelor" Season 15 winner Emily Maynard sat down during the July 11 episode of "The Bachelorette" for a candid chat with host Chris Harrison about everything that led up to her recent tabloid-scrutinized split with two-time "Bachelor" Brad Womack.

Maynard's confessions of life after "The Bachelor" blamed their engagement's end on a few factors for which neither was prepared - namely, paparazzi by the pack; persistent rumors of secret agendas, lies and infidelities; and most importantly to Maynard, the focus it took away from being a parent to her daughter, Ricki.

No sooner did Maynard's interview hit the airwaves - and, in fact, shortly before it aired - than speculation began that she had been annointed Season Eight's "Bachelorette"-in-Waiting. It took only slightly longer for Harrison and Maynard to both start shooting the scuttlebutt down, according to's Candace Young.

Harrison himself allegedly told "Access Hollywood" that while the idea hasn't been nixed, it's too soon after Maynard and Womack's split and too far in advance of production on the next "Bachelorette" to even speculate. Harrison noted during Monday night's interview that both Womack and Maynard declined producers' original request some time prior, though even Womack himself gave Maynard's sit-down his blessing.

Maynard herself was quoted in the July 11 People as giving her daughter her undivided attention right now. She also told "Bachelor Pad" winner David Good via Twitter July 12, a day after the interview aired, "I don't want to be The Bachelorette."

Before the interview aired Monday night, blogger Reality Steve lashed out in warning that Maynard would be deservingly dubbed a hypocrite if she followed in current "Bachelorette" Ashley Hebert's footsteps after making such a fuss about the tabloid microscope horning in on her relationship with her daughter.

“If by some miracle of God, Emily changes her mind and becomes the next 'Bachelorette', I will rip her mercilessly for the hypocritical stance. Get it out of your heads. It’s not going to happen," he wrote.
