'Men in Black III' First Trailer: Will Smith Goes Back in Time

It's usually pretty safe to assume that when a series, be it television or movies, incorporates time travel, it has more or less jumped the shark.

But is "Men in Black" immune to that label? After all, the series started off by introducing us to a world in which aliens live among us and intergalactic standoffs happen daily. What's a little time travel between friends?

The new trailer for "Men in Black III" give us an introduction to the movie's time travel element, which will be the bulk of the story. It all starts with Agent J (Will Smith) and Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) doing their usual protect the Earth thing, until Jay finds out that Kay has been dead for decades.

Upon hearing that news, Jay uncovers some secrets about MIB that Kay never told him, including the fact that you can apparently jump off the Chrysler Building with a little device in hand that will allow you to "time jump" to the past.

So Jay does just that, and finds himself face-to-face with Kay again, though this time it's 1969 Kay, who is played by Josh Brolin. That part, at the very least, should be a lot of fun: Josh Brolin's Tommy Lee Jones approximation is pretty good.
