Moviegoers favor Little Fockers, tops box office during the holidays

On Thursday, the movie starring Robert DeNiro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand made an estimated $7.1 million in ticket sales accumulating $14.3 million in two days.

The box office result shows that majority of moviegoers prefer the comedy film to enjoy a good laugh this holidays.

Although Little Fockers tops the box office, the film’s outcome is still weaker compared to its predecessor in Meet the Fockers that made $24.4 million dollars for the first two days during the 2004 holiday season.

Jeff Bridges Tron: Legacy that topped the box office last weekend came no. 2 on Wednesday and Thursday box office. The 3D sci-fi movie made approximately $68.2 million in ticket sales within the first seven days.

The western action film True Grit ranked no. 2 as well on Wednesday and slipped to ranked no. 3 during the Thursday box office accumulating an estimated $11.2 million in gross ticket sales for the first two days. Moviegoers gave the movie positive reviews.

The family cartoon Yogi Bear ranked no. 4 and made approximately $28 million for the first seven days in the box office.

Natalie Potman’s Black Swan continues to receive positive reviews ranked no. 7 and as of Thursday’s box office, the ballet movie made an estimated $ 22. 4 million since its opening day.

Moviegoers are expected to flock the theaters this weekend.
