'War Horse': Prepare To Be Moved By Three New Trailers (Video)

Oscar-bait? Sure, maybe.

But then again, the best bait often hooks the biggest, best fish.

It's been a while since Steven Spielberg has directed a legitimate cinematic classic but with the upcoming "War Horse," by Jove, it looks like he's got it again.

Adapted from the 1982 children's novel of the same name by British author Michael Morpurgo and the subsequent 2007 stage adaptation of it, the story follows a horse first owned by British youth Albert Narracott, then sold into the British cavalry and shipped to France amid World War I, where he serves in both the British and German armies.

If lines like this are any indication, neither the trailers nor the story itself will leave a dry eye in the house by the time all is said and done.

“What’s that?”

“It’s a horse.”

“What kind of horse?”

“A miraculous kind of an horse."

"War Horse" stars Jeremy Irvine, Emily Watson, Peter Mullan and Tom Hiddleston. It opens in theaters everywhere Christmas Day.
