Ep 4. Episode 4

In episode 4 of A Love So Beautiful, we see significant developments in the story and characters' relationships.

The episode starts with Chen Xiaoxi and Jiang Chen's school getting ready for the sports day. Chen Xiaoxi is excitedly preparing her cheering routine for Jiang Chen, but she suddenly realizes that she has lost her lucky plushie. She frantically starts looking for it, and her friends join her in the search. Meanwhile, Jiang Chen is practicing his high jump with serious determination, but he seems to be struggling with something. Later, he admits to his friend that he has difficulty jumping because he is scared of falling.

Chen Xiaoxi and her friends continue their search and start asking everyone in the school if they have seen the plushie. Eventually, they come across Wu Bosong, a senior in their school who has a reputation for being a bully. Wu Bosong has seen the plushie and demands a kiss from Chen Xiaoxi in exchange for it.

Chen Xiaoxi refuses to comply, but Wu Bosong starts harassing her and her friends. Jiang Chen sees the commotion and steps in to help. He grabs Wu Bosong by the collar, warning him to leave Chen Xiaoxi alone. This scene highlights Jiang Chen's protective nature and how much he cares about Chen Xiaoxi, even though he doesn't express it openly.

At sports day, Chen Xiaoxi and her friends give their all to cheer for Jiang Chen, but it turns out he has a leg injury and can't participate. Chen Xiaoxi is visibly disappointed and can't help but feel sorry for Jiang Chen. In the meantime, she meets her classmate Zhang Jiajia, who has been working hard to improve her high jump skills. Chen Xiaoxi encourages her and promises to cheer for her just as enthusiastically as she did for Jiang Chen.

As the high jump competition begins, Zhang Jiajia freezes with stage fright, and the crowd falls silent. But Chen Xiaoxi starts cheering her on from the sidelines, slowly gathering more and more supporters. Zhang Jiajia finally feels confident enough to jump, and to everyone's surprise, she clears the bar. Chen Xiaoxi is overjoyed and runs to hug Zhang Jiajia. The episode ends with a beautiful moment of friendship and support between the two girls.

Overall, episode 4 showcases the characters' growth and their relationships with one another. Jiang Chen's protective nature is highlighted, and we see more of his struggles with expressing his emotions. Chen Xiaoxi's kindness shines through as she encourages her friend and supports her through her insecurities. The episode also touches upon themes of bullying and the importance of standing up for oneself.
