BCS Bowl Championship Series Season 2013 Episode 8 Vizio BCS National Championship Game: Florida State Seminoles vs. Auburn Tigers

  • January 6, 2014

The Vizio BCS National Championship Game features the Florida State Seminoles and the Auburn Tigers facing off in what promises to be a thrilling matchup for college football fans. The Seminoles, led by Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, come into the game as the clear favorites, boasting an impressive undefeated record and a high-powered offense that has dominated opponents all season long. However, the Tigers have proven to be a formidable opponent in their own right, with a dynamic offense that has shown the ability to score points in bunches and a defense that has improved steadily throughout the season.

The game starts off with a bang, as both teams come out firing on all cylinders. The Seminoles strike first, with Winston leading the offense down the field with ease and connecting with his receivers for several big plays. However, the Tigers respond with a quick touchdown of their own, using their lightning-fast running back, Tre Mason, to carve up the Florida State defense. The game quickly becomes a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading blows and neither side able to gain a significant advantage.

As the game wears on, however, it becomes clear that the Seminoles are beginning to gain the upper hand. Winston continues to play with poise and confidence, picking apart the Auburn defense with his pinpoint accuracy and quick decision-making. The Florida State defense, meanwhile, begins to tighten up and make key stops, shutting down the Tigers' running game and pressuring their quarterback into making mistakes. With the score tied at 21-21 going into halftime, it seems as though the stage is set for a dramatic second half.

In the third quarter, the Seminoles begin to pull away, thanks in large part to the heroics of their star quarterback. Winston continues to shred the Auburn defense, throwing for two more touchdowns and putting his team ahead by two scores. The Tigers fight back valiantly, with Mason and quarterback Nick Marshall leading the charge, but they are unable to overcome the deficit and the Seminoles begin to pull away for good. Late in the fourth quarter, with the score 34-24 in Florida State's favor, the Tigers have one last chance to make a comeback, but a key interception by the Seminoles' defense snuffs out any hopes of a miracle finish.

As the clock winds down, the Florida State faithful erupt in celebration, their team having completed an undefeated season and captured the national championship. For the Auburn Tigers, the loss is a bitter pill to swallow, but they can hold their heads high after putting up a valiant effort against one of the best teams in college football. All in all, it's a fitting end to an incredible season, and a reminder of why the BCS Bowl Championship Series remains one of the most exciting events in all of sports.
