Ep 2. He's Back

[Scene opens with a shot of the Bellevue hospital sign at night. The camera then pans into the psychiatric ward where an orderly is walking down a corridor checking on each patient. One patient, a man named Danny is shown looking agitated and pacing his room. Suddenly he lunges at the camera and the scene cuts to the title card.]

Title Card: Bellevue

[Cut to a shot of Detective Annie Ryder waking up in her bed. She looks at her phone and sees a missed call from her father. Her teenage daughter Daisy walks in and tells her that breakfast is ready, but Annie is distracted. She tells Daisy she needs to go to work early and leaves the house.]

[Cut to Annie arriving at the police station. She greets her colleagues and hands in her report about the missing young woman. Her boss, Chief Peter Welland, compliments her on her work, but reminds her that they have to focus on other cases as well.]

[Cut to the psychiatric ward where Danny is still agitated. The orderly is trying to calm him down, but Danny keeps screaming that "he's back."]

[Cut to the police station where Annie receives a call from her father, Ed. He tells her that he found a clue about the missing young woman and wants to meet her at a hotel. Annie reluctantly agrees and heads there.]

[Cut to the hotel room where Ed is waiting for Annie. He shows her a notebook that he found in the woods, with sketches of the young woman. Annie recognizes one of the sketches as the tattoo on the young woman's arm. She thanks her father and leaves.]

[Cut to the hospital where Danny attacks the orderly and runs away. The police are called and Annie and her partner Detective Brady Holt are assigned to find Danny. Annie realizes that he might be connected to the missing young woman and decides to interview his ex-girlfriend.]

[Cut to the ex-girlfriend's apartment where Annie and Brady interview her. She reveals that Danny used to be obsessed with the young woman and that he was convinced that she was abducted by aliens. Annie takes note of this and thanks the ex-girlfriend for her time.]

[Cut to the hospital where the police are searching for Danny. They find his room empty and notice that a lock has been broken. Annie examines the broken lock and realizes that it was broken from the outside, meaning someone had let Danny out.]

[Cut to Annie's house where she is cleaning up after dinner. She hears a knock on the door and sees a man standing outside. She recognizes him as her former lover, Eddie, who has just been released from prison. Annie is visibly shaken and tries to shut the door, but Eddie insists on talking to her.]

[Cut to the hospital where the police corner Danny in a storage room. He is crouched in a corner, shaking and muttering to himself. Annie approaches him gently and tries to calm him down. Danny reveals that he saw the young woman being taken away by aliens and that they are coming back for him. Annie tries to reason with him, but he becomes more agitated and starts screaming.]

[Cut to Annie's house where Eddie is trying to explain why he went to prison. He says that he was trying to protect her and that he still loves her. Annie looks torn and confused, but ultimately tells him to leave.]

[Cut back to the hospital where Danny has calmed down. He tells Annie that he knows who took the young woman and that they are coming back for him. Annie promises to protect him and takes him back to his room.]

[Cut to the police station where Annie and Brady discuss their findings. They realize that the case might be connected to a group of alien enthusiasts who believe in abductions. Annie also confides in Brady about Eddie and admits that she still has feelings for him.]

[Cut to a shot of Eddie walking away from Annie's house, looking defeated. The camera then pans out to show a man watching him from a car parked across the street. The man is revealed to be a member of the alien enthusiasts group.]

[Cut to the hospital where Danny is seen sleeping in his room. Suddenly, the door opens and a shadowy figure enters the room. The episode ends with a tense cliffhanger.]
