The outrageous period comedy series Black Monday continues with its sixth episode titled Black Monday: 122. The show, which explores the origins of the infamous stock market crash in 1987 and the weird characters that made it possible, is a thrilling ride through the excesses of the Reagan-era Wall Street.

In this episode, viewers are further immersed in the twisted world of Maurice Monroe, the ruthless trader played by Don Cheadle, who is on a mission to get revenge on the Jammer Group, the rival firm he blames for the death of his mentor. As the title suggests, the episode takes place on December 2nd, 1985, a pivotal day in the history of Black Monday.

We find Maurice and his gang of misfits at the Halloween party of the Jammer Group, trying to sabotage their enemies by any means necessary. Meanwhile, Blair Pfaff, the up-and-coming trader played by Andrew Rannells, is struggling with his own demons, as he tries to balance his work with his secret love for his boss's wife Tiff Georgina, portrayed by Casey Wilson.

The tension is high as Maurice and his team, which includes his inseparable sidekick Dawn Darcy, played by Regina Hall, and his new protégé Keith Shankar, played by Paul Scheer, use tricks, disguises, and lies to undermine the Jammer Group's reputation and steal their clients. Their plan seems to be working until they encounter a formidable obstacle in the form of Mo, a mysterious and charismatic trader played by Horatio Sanz, who is also after the same target.

As the night wears on, the party turns into a wild and surreal bacchanal, complete with 80s music, drugs, and sexual tension. Amidst the chaos, Maurice and Blair have a heart-to-heart conversation that reveals some of the secrets of their past and hints at the future of their friendship. Meanwhile, Dawn and Keith engage in a dangerous game of seduction that leads them down a path of no return.

The episode is directed by Seth Rogen, who also serves as an executive producer of the show, and written by Jordan Cahan and David Caspe, the creators of the series. Their sense of humor and attention to detail shine through in every scene, as they mix historical facts with fictional characters and create a surreal and hilarious version of Wall Street that makes us laugh and cringe at the same time.

Overall, Black Monday: 122 is a must-watch for fans of the show and newcomers alike. It offers a fresh perspective on the events and personalities that led to one of the most significant financial disasters of the 20th century, while also providing plenty of laughs and thrills. With its stellar cast, witty writing, and eye-popping visuals, the show continues to be one of the standout comedies of the year.
