Atlantic Coast Conference champions Virginia Tech Hokies (9-4, 5-3 ACC) and the Big East's Cincinnati Bearcats (11-2, 6-1 BIG EAST) meet at Dolphin Stadium for the 75th Annual FedEx Orange Bowl. This matchup pits old-school Big East vs. new-school Big East as Virginia Tech left the conference following the 2004 season. The Hokies finished the regular season ranked seventh nationally in total defense, allowing just 277 yards per game while the Bearcats averaged 375 yards of offense during the regular season. The last time these two teams met was two years ago with the Hokies winning handily - 29-13.
