Ep 1. A Very Trippy Horse

Two British women, Raquel and Amy, experience a chance meeting in a hospital and instantly form a friendship that will never be the same again. Raquel, an abrasive outcast with a talent for seeing demons, believes Amy to be her legendary 'seer', a fellow spirit hunter destined to fight the forces of evil.

Despite Amy's initial skepticism, they soon find themselves atop a hill in the countryside, standing over the corpse of a blue demon. The girls banter with each other, gleefully shattering the rules of what it means to be a hunter. But when a more powerful demon appears, they are forced to put their skills to the test, relying on each other's strengths to survive.

The episode also introduces us to Jake who has been seized by an indescribable terror caused by a demon he once unknowingly invited into his life. Amy and Raquel, with their new partnership, help Jake face his fears and eliminate the demon, leading him on a journey of self-discovery.

All the while, the girls are grappling with the challenges of their personal lives. Raquel struggles to balance her job as a cleaner with demons and spirits whilst Amy is dealing with the aftermath of a failed relationship. They both find solace in their new friendship, which is quickly challenged when they get stoned at a party and accidentally conjure up the spirit of a very trippy horse.

Despite its comical elements, A Very Trippy Horse serves a larger purpose in early episodes of the series. It reintroduces our heroes and helps establish their bond, which will serve as the bedrock for all that's to come. This episode is an excellent beginning to the rest, oozing with personality, humour, and just enough horror to keep us all revved up.
