Watch Davey and Goliath

In the 60s and 70s, the Lutheran Church in America Productions produced a clay animated series called Davey and Goliath. Each fifteen minute episode features Davey Hansen, a grammar school boy, his sister Sally, his parents, his friends, and of course his brown talking dog, Goliath.

Produced to teach children ages three to eight Christian social values, older children and those who aren't Christian also like the show. Such topics on Davey and Goliath are to always be true to your word, all children are your neighbors whether they live in your neighborhood or not, learn from people whose culture is different from yours, don't take advantage of your friends in order win a prize, and much more.

In one episode, Davey wanted to get Goliath a special birthday present. He wanted to buy Goliath a steak, but it was too expensive. Davey got a job mowing a lady's lawn. He found a gold bracelet, at first not knowing it belonged to the lady. Davey, at first, kept the bracelet and used it for Goliath's collar. He returned the bracelet to the lady, got a cash award and was able to buy an expensive steak for Goliath.
