In the fifth episode of Deadly Intelligence, entitled "Saddam's Doomsday Conspiracy," viewers are taken on a journey into the world of political deception and military strategy. The episode explores one of the most controversial military campaigns of modern times – the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 – and investigates whether or not Saddam Hussein was hiding a secret weapon of mass destruction.

The episode begins with a recap of the events that led up to the Iraq War. Following the 9/11 attacks, the Bush administration accused Saddam Hussein of possessing weapons of mass destruction and supporting terrorist groups. The United Nations weapons inspectors were sent to Iraq to verify whether or not the accusations were true. However, after months of searching, the inspectors found no evidence of weapons of mass destruction.

The episode then shifts its focus to the United States' intelligence community and the key players involved in the decision to go to war. We are introduced to the top CIA officials responsible for overseeing the intelligence gathering in Iraq and are shown how a network of informants provided the US government with false information about Iraq's WMD program.

The episode then takes a surprising turn as we learn that Saddam may have actually been hiding a secret weapon all along. The weapon – a massive underground tunnel system – was designed to protect Saddam and his top officials in the event of a foreign invasion. Saddam had reportedly spent billions of dollars constructing the tunnel system, which was equipped with living quarters, hospitals, and supply rooms.

The episode then delves deeper into the logistics of the tunnel system, exploring how it was built, who built it, and how it was kept hidden from the outside world. The experts interviewed for the episode provide compelling evidence of the existence of the tunnel system, including satellite images and eyewitness accounts.

The episode then shifts focus to the US military's handling of the invasion. We learn that the military had no knowledge of the tunnel system and were unprepared for the challenges it posed. The episode features interviews with soldiers and commanders who were on the ground during the invasion and who describe the chaos and confusion that ensued when they encountered the tunnel system.

Overall, "Saddam's Doomsday Conspiracy" is a gripping episode filled with twists and turns. The episode does an excellent job of presenting evidence and expert opinions from both sides of the Iraq War debate. Viewers are left to draw their own conclusions about whether or not Saddam was hiding a secret weapon and whether or not the US government was justified in going to war.
