Detective Welcome Harris and most of Atlanta's elite take on the case of Atlanta socialite Lita McClinton who, just hours before her divorce hearing in 1987, opens her front door for a flower delivery of long stemmed roses and is shot by the deliveryman. They suspect McClinton’s estranged husband, millionaire Jim Sullivan, of orchestrating the murder. 19 years letter the collect enough evidence to convict him.
