EXTRA is the recipient of the Daytime Emmy Award in way of an Outstanding Entertainment News Program. It provides the viewer with broadcasts that originate Live from Universal Studios in Hollywood. The host of Extra is Mario Lopez. He is joined by Charissa Thompson and Tracey Edmonds.

The trio brings current news to its audience with regard to the entertainment world. The host and his co-hosts provide the fans with various places where they report celebrity, A-List news events--ranging from the City-Walk of Universal-- where global retailers reside and sensational legendary movie personalities show up.

The show's fans visit from everywhere in the world. Each have an opportunity to participate in the show's daily entertainment--taking place weekly--Monday through Friday.

There are live appearances from A-list celebrities including actors, musical artists, and athletes. The fans interact with the show's hosts and are able to pose for photographs with their celebrities, attain autographs, enjoy Live musical entertainment and see their favorite A-List performers up-close.
