For the People is an American legal drama television series that premiered on ABC in March 2018. It follows a group of young lawyers working in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and deals with their personal and professional lives as they handle high-profile cases.

In season 1 episode 7, titled "Have You Met Leonard Knox?", we are introduced to a new character named Leonard Knox (played by Regé-Jean Page), a charming and ambitious public defender who catches the eye of many in the courthouse, including Sandra (Britt Robertson).

Meanwhile, Jay (Wesam Keesh) is tasked with prosecuting a case involving a congressman accused of taking bribes, and struggles with the fact that the defense attorney is his former mentor. Kate (Susannah Flood) and Seth (Ben Shenkman) work together on a pro bono case for a transgender student who is being denied access to the school bathroom of their choice.

As the episode unfolds, we see the dynamic between Leonard and Sandra develop, with the two of them bonding over their shared experiences growing up on opposite sides of the tracks. Leonard proves himself to be a skilled lawyer as he defends a client accused of armed robbery, and his confidence and charisma start to win over some of his colleagues.

Jay, on the other hand, struggles with his role in the bribery case, as he grapples with the realization that his mentor may have played a part in the corruption. He also has to deal with personal issues, including a strained relationship with his father and the growing attraction he feels towards his fellow prosecutor, Allison (Jasmin Savoy Brown).

Kate and Seth's pro bono case takes an emotional toll on them, as they fight for their client's rights and face opposition from the school board. The episode explores themes of discrimination and identity, as the transgender student's struggle for acceptance and equality is juxtaposed with the privileged world of the courthouse.

Overall, "Have You Met Leonard Knox?" is a well-written and engaging episode that highlights the strengths of the For the People ensemble cast. The addition of Regé-Jean Page as Leonard adds a new dose of energy to the show, and the various storylines are woven together seamlessly. Fans of legal dramas will find plenty to enjoy in this episode, which balances the personal and professional lives of the characters in a compelling way.
