Gaycation: Orlando is the fifth episode of the second season of the documentary series, Gaycation, which explores LGBTQ culture and rights around the world. The episode follows hosts, Ellen Page and Ian Daniel, as they travel to Orlando, Florida, in the aftermath of the Pulse nightclub shooting, which left 49 people dead and 53 injured on June 12, 2016.

The episode starts with Page and Daniel meeting with local activists and community members, who are struggling to make sense of the tragedy and the feelings of fear and insecurity that it has brought to Orlando's LGBTQ community. They attend a vigil outside the Pulse nightclub, where they talk to survivors, family members of victims, and other locals about their experiences and emotions. Page and Daniel also visit the makeshift memorial outside the nightclub, where people have left flowers, cards, and other mementos in honor of the victims.

In the following days, Page and Daniel explore the different aspects of LGBTQ life in Orlando, from the vibrant drag scene to the struggles of transgender individuals to access healthcare. They also investigate the role of religion and politics in shaping attitudes towards LGBTQ issues, meeting with both progressive and conservative faith leaders, as well as politicians and activists, to hear their perspectives. Throughout their journey, they encounter story after story of resilience, compassion, and solidarity, as LGBTQ people and allies come together to support each other and push for change.

Towards the end of the episode, Page and Daniel attend a town hall meeting organized by Equality Florida, a statewide LGBTQ advocacy group, to discuss the aftermath of the Pulse shooting and the way forward for the community. They hear from survivors, family members, and community leaders about their hopes and fears for the future, as well as their ideas for how to create a more inclusive and just society. The episode ends with a tribute to the victims of the shooting and a call to action for viewers to support LGBTQ causes and organizations in their own communities.

Overall, Gaycation: Orlando is a powerful and emotional episode that shines a light on the resilience and strength of LGBTQ people and communities in the wake of tragedy. It is a testament to the importance of empathy, dialogue, and activism in the fight for equal rights and dignity for all.
