  • April 13, 2020

Gayme Show is a new comedy game show hosted by comedians Matt Rogers and Dave Mizzoni that celebrates members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. In each episode, two celebrity guests team up with contestants to compete in outrageous challenges that test their knowledge of LGBTQ+ history and culture.

In season 1 episode 8, titled "Best Supporting Actress," the contestants get ready to clown around with guest stars Ilana Glazer and Nico Santos. The episode starts with the two celebrity guests revealing what it means to them to be allies and how they have shown their support for the LGBTQ+ community. After their introductions, the contestants face off in a game of "Queer the Scene" where they are tasked with coming up with the best way to incorporate a LGBTQ+ element into a movie scene.

Next, the "Ace in the Hole" challenge tests the players' musical talents as they create a new song with a special twist - the lyrics are composed entirely of famous movie quotes. The judges critique each team's performance, looking for originality, entertainment value, and most importantly, queer representation.

After a brief interlude showcasing the talents of the show's very own "Galpal Donna," the contestants take on their final challenge - "Drag Time!" In this challenge, the contestants have an hour to get in drag and create a backup dance routine to a popular pop song. The celebrity guests have the honor of selecting who did the best in the challenges overall and will be crowned the episode's victor.

In classic Gayme Show fashion, the challenges are hilariously over-the-top, and the contestants' willingness to go all-in provides for a non-stop, laugh-out-loud experience. There are plenty of one-liners and surprising revelations, as well as some particularly touching moments where the contestants share what the LGBTQ+ community means to them.

Overall, "Best Supporting Actress" is a prime example of why Gayme Show has become a fan favorite. With its sharp humor, creative challenges, and heartwarming spirit, viewers are guaranteed to have a good time watching this episode, whether they're long-time fans of the show or tuning in for the first time.
