Hang-Ups is a British television show that follows the life of Richard Pitt, a therapist who offers online counseling sessions from his office located in his house. The show is presented in a mockumentary style with improvisations, and the second episode of season one is no exception.

In the second episode, Richard has a new client, Maria, who is a single mother struggling to cope with her teenage son. Maria feels that her son is completely out of control and she is unable to handle the situation on her own. Richard tries to calm her down and suggests a few coping techniques, but Maria seems to be unconvinced by his advice.

Meanwhile, Richard's wife, Karen, is frustrated with his lack of contribution to the household chores. She confronts him about his responsibilities and suggests that he should take over some of the tasks, especially since he is always at home. Richard reluctantly agrees and tries to do his share of work around the house. As expected, he fails miserably.

Simultaneously, Richard's sister Claire is trying to set him up on a date with one of her friends. Richard is initially hesitant about the idea but agrees to meet her. However, when he sees his blind date, he is completely put off and does not know how to handle the situation. Richard's awkwardness is amplified when the date turns out to be a disaster.

Back at the office, Richard faces a new problem when his colleague, Jane, takes over his session with Maria. Richard is upset with Jane's intervention and confronts her about it. Jane reveals that she has been seeing a therapist herself and is using her experience to help Richard's clients. The two therapists have a minor argument but eventually agree to work together and help Maria.

The episode ends with Richard trying to do his share of work around the house and failing once again. Maria messages Richard, thanking him for his advice, and Karen tries to help him out. However, Richard feels overwhelmed and confesses that he is not cut out for the life of a therapist.

Overall, Hang-Ups season 1 episode 2 is an entertaining and insightful look into the life of an online therapist. The episode delves into the challenges that come with being a therapist and dealing with clients who have difficult problems. It also explores the personal struggles of the protagonist, Richard, and his attempts to balance his personal and professional life. The show is funny, quirky, and insightful, and it provides a fresh perspective on the world of therapy.
