Ep 2. Off-Road Wheelchair & Mobile Ice Shack

Last Outpost season 1 episode 2 is titled "Off-Road Wheelchair & Mobile Ice Shack". The episode follows two brothers, Rob and Rich, who are experts at engineering and repurposing items to create unique off-grid projects. In this episode, they take on two separate challenges: creating an off-road wheelchair for a wounded veteran and building a mobile ice fishing shack.

The first half of the episode focuses on the off-road wheelchair. Rob and Rich meet with Steve, a veteran who lost the use of his legs in combat. Steve is an avid outdoorsman and misses being able to go off-road and hunt like he used to. Rob and Rich take on the challenge and decide to create a custom off-road wheelchair that will allow Steve to navigate rough terrain and get back out into the wilderness. They use materials they have on hand, including ATV tires and a car axle, to construct a rugged frame for the chair. They then add a custom seat and figure out a way to make it easily detachable so Steve can load it onto his truck. The final product is a sturdy, off-road-ready wheelchair that Steve is thrilled with.

The second half of the episode is focused on building a mobile ice fishing shack. Rob and Rich head out to the frozen lake and set up a makeshift shack to try their hand at ice fishing. They quickly realize that their makeshift shelter is not going to cut it – it's too small, and not insulated enough to keep them warm in the frigid temperatures. So they decide to build a custom mobile ice fishing shack that they can tow out onto the lake. They start by creating a frame out of PVC pipes and attaching it to an old snowmobile trailer. They then add insulation, walls, and a roof made out of corrugated plastic. They install a heater and a small kitchen area, and add plenty of storage space for their fishing gear. The finished product is a spacious, warm, and mobile ice fishing shack that they can take out onto the lake whenever they want.

Throughout the episode, we get to see Rob and Rich's creativity and resourcefulness in action. They take on two completely different challenges and come up with unique solutions for each one. We also get to see their passion for the outdoors and their desire to help others experience it as well. The episode is a testament to the power of ingenuity and the joy of creating something with your own two hands.
