In the sixth episode of Lost Gold season 1, titled Jim Bowie, the team of treasure hunters led by brothers Josh and Jesse Feldman explore the legend of Jim Bowie and his missing silver mine. Bowie was a renowned American frontiersman and came to fame during the Texas Revolution where he fought and died at the Battle of the Alamo. There have been tales of the silver mine he discovered that contains a wealth of silver.

The episode starts with Josh and Jesse heading to a small town in Arkansas to meet with local historian and Jim Bowie expert, Dr. Grady McAllister. Dr. McAllister has researched Jim Bowie for over 30 years and has written several books on his life and Texas Revolution history. He shares his knowledge of Bowie's life, his battle with tuberculosis, and his search for a silver mine to fund his lavish lifestyle. Bowie traveled across the Southwest in search of silver, and legend has it that he discovered a mine in Arkansas. However, Bowie died before he could reveal the mine's location, setting off years of treasure hunters attempting to find it.

The team starts their search in the rugged mountains of Arkansas, an area known to be frequented by Bowie during his travels. They use metal detectors and excavators to dig deep into the earth, searching for any signs of silver ore or artifacts. They also take the help of experienced local miners who have the knowledge and expertise in mining.

In the midst of their search, the team faces several challenges, including extreme weather conditions and rugged terrain. However, they remain persistent in their quest to find Jim Bowie's silver mine. After several days of digging, they finally discover a silver deposit near a historic mining site that they believe could be the lost mine. The deposit has the same characteristics as the one Bowie was said to have discovered, and the team is convinced that they have finally found it.

However, they are not ready to celebrate just yet. The team is aware that the legend surrounding Jim Bowie's silver mine is one that has attracted treasure hunters for years, and many have come up short in their search. They want to be certain that they have found the right mine before making any grand declarations.

The team sends samples of the silver ore to a geologist for analysis, hoping to learn more about the ore's origin and characteristics. The results of the analysis are promising, and the team is confident that the silver deposit they have discovered is the long-lost mine of Jim Bowie.

The episode concludes with the team leaving behind tools for future excavation and a marker on the site to commemorate their discovery. They reflect on the significance of the discovery and the legacy of Jim Bowie, who has fascinated treasure hunters and historians for generations.
