Back in the present day, Alex attends Abby's play and is blown away by her performance. Nori is also in attendance, and they both share a moment of pride over their daughter. After the play, Nori invites Alex to dinner to catch up and they both discuss their past and where their lives have taken them. They both express regret over not being able to make their relationship work and Alex admits that he still loves Nori.

Nori is hesitant to rekindle their relationship, but she tells Alex that she will think about it. The episode ends with Alex reflecting on his life and how he wishes he had made different decisions.
