Watch Mind Your Language

Mind Your Language is a British comedy television series which premiered on the ITV Network. The show follows the comedic misadventures of an English as a Foreign Language teacher in an adult education college. Jeremy Brown, played by Barry Evans, must teach English to a motley crew of adult students who don't speak English as their primary language.

The show features recurring character Mrs. Dolores Courtney, played by Zara Nutley, as the headmistress of the academy. A few of the recurring student roles are Giovanni Capello, portrayed by George Camiller, Anna Schmidt who was played by Jacki Harding, Juan Cervantez, played by Ricardo Montez, Chung Su-Lee, played by Pik-Sen Lim, and Ranjeet Singh, played by Albert Moses. The program focuses on the comedies of errors that can occur with people when there are language and cultural barriers hard at work.

Mind Your Language is produced by London Weekend Television and directed by Stuart Allen.

Mind Your Language Full Episode Guide

  • Jeremy Brown's repsonsibility as and English teacher to foreign students doesn't always end when leaves the class. Ali Nadim, his Pakistani student, seeks advice on marital problems and Jeremy feels bound to help. The results are rather unexpected.

  • The college goes off on a desperate search for a celebrity to open their school fete.

  • Anna comes into the classroom upset when she discovers she will have to return to Germany because her work permit has run out. The pupils decide to help and hatch a plan for Anna to marry Jeremy.

  • Jeremy's pupils end up in court in front of the local magistrate court. Unluckily for Jeremy, Miss Courtney, who is a JP, is to preside over the court.

  • Jeremy takes one of his pupils to hospital and ends up needing hospital treatment himself. Meanwhile, his pupils believe that Jeremy has died and go off to his funeral.

  • Danielle, an au pair, brings in to college the baby that she looks after. The baby gets lost several times causing panic and concern for all.

  • Jeremy accepts a higher paid job only to discover it has already been taken and that his previous position has also been filled. Now that he is jobless his pupils plot to help him gain back his position.

  • A wealthy Arab Sheik comes to see Miss Courtney about English classes. He himself speaks perfect English, but he wants his chauffeur to have English lessons and is prepared to pay two thousand pounds if the college can make this happen. When the chauffeur comes in, they are shocked to discover that he is Scottish. Miss Courtney suggests that they teach the Scottish dialect to the Sheik.

  • It is the end of term and Jeremy decides that his class must appear in the end of term show.

  • Jeremy finds that he has no partner for the school dance and goes off on a desperate search.

  • Jeremy goes to visit Giovanni and Max at their flat but manages to be mistaken for a burglar.

  • Ranjeet has been saving desperately in order to see his mother but all hope seems dead when he loses the money.

  • Miss Courtney's ex-fiancee returns to England and Miss Courtney presumes it must be to resume their romance.

  • The Queen is expected to visit the college and so Jeremy decides that each of his pupils should wear their national dress to mark the occasion.

  • It is a new term and Jeremy is looking forward to teaching a new class. However, he has a few surprises coming his way.
