Ep 12. No Time Like the Present

Evie is still torn between Xavier's crazy apocalyptic predictions and what she wants for her future. She is also dealing with the fact that her best friend, Hank, is leaving to go on a six-month cruise, and she discovers that her boss, Deirdre, has been embezzling money from the company. Meanwhile, Xavier is determined to complete everything on his leading apocalypse bucket list before the end of the world, and persuades Evie to join him in fulfilling his last item, which is to donate his kidney to a person in need. The two of them go to the hospital and get involved in a bit of a mix-up which they end up correcting. Hank throws a farewell party for himself in which everyone gets to share their special moment with him before he leaves. Later that night, Evie sees Deirdre leaving the office with a bag of cash and follows her to a casino where she discovers that she has been gambling away the company's money. Evie tells Xavier about it, and they decide to return the money to the company's account anonymously, but when they break into Deirdre's office, they find that the police have already been notified and are now standing outside. Just when they are about to be caught, they discover a secret escape route that leads them to the city tunnels where they have to crawl their way through to reach the end and escape. When they finally make it out, they realize that they have to run away and have nothing but each other and the clothes on their backs.
