Q Pootle 5 is a British animated children's television series produced by Snapper Productions Ltd, Q Pootle 5 Ltd, and Blue-Zoo Productions. A very bored Oopsy arrives at Q Pootle 5's house. She is convinced there's nothing to do. Pootle suggests that they go and visit somewhere really amazing. So, with that, Pootle and Oopsy travel a great distance to find a giant telescope on a small planet in deep space. The telescope reveals some wondrous things, dancing comets, a rainbow nebula and a mirror galaxy.

The friends all convene on Planet Dave, in time for Comet Gordon's passing, only for the comet to hurtle through at great speed.

Bud-D is having a wonderful time, but when Pootle suggests that they build him a proper spaceship, Bud-D isn't so sure.

Q Pootle 5 and Oopsy take a long trip to visit the legendary bubble craters. When they arrive they have great fun dipping their straws in the bubble pools and blowing enormous bubbles. The bubbles get bigger and bigger, until Oopsy blows a bubble so large that it envelopes Pootle's spaceship. There is a problem however.

However, the day does not go according to plan at each place they visit there seems to be a problem. Stella doesn't like the desert and all the sand, Oopsy finds the rocks of rocky canyon rather boring, Ray is allergic to the Medley Bells flowers and Eddi is hungry.

Groobie is rather worn out from attempting to fit a new turbo booster to his spaceship and so when Bud-D suggests that he has a lie down, Groobie thinks this is an excellent idea. With Groobie gently dozing on the veranda, Bud-D takes it upon himself to fit the turbo booster with Groobie's gyrospanner - Groobie will be so pleased with him.

Bud-D is busy tidying in the yard when Groobie calls him - he is confused by a large crate that seems to be delivered by mistake. They open the crate and to Bud-D's delight it is another robot, a state-of-the-art Galacto 8000 Bet-E model.

Pootle and Oopsy then leave to visit Groobie's where Eddi is struggling to make a kite, whilst they are helping Eddi, Stella radios through a distress call.

Q Pootle 5 and Oopsy visit Groobie for a smoothie, only to discover that his smoothie maker is broken again. Fortunately, Groobie has sent off for some spare parts, but when the boxes are opened, it turns out to be two pogo sticks. Groobie is very disappointed, but Pootle and Oopsy are delighted. They head off boinging across the whole of Okidoki, doing some incredible stunts as they go.

When Groobie unveils his homemade jukebox, everybody is amazed and so the friends decide to hold a dance. After a few false starts, the jukebox jumps into life, but, thanks to Groobie's modifications it launches skywards like a rocket, crash landing amongst a pile of rocks (no roll). Groobie is forlorn, and it looks like the friends will have to go home.

Everybody is very excited as it is the day of the Cosmic Whipple. The most beautiful light show in the galaxy. The friends decide to have a party and head off home to prepare some food. When they all arrive back at the shack, Oopsy is missing. She went to Bockety Moon to find some tasty lunar sticks, but her spaceship has broken down when she attempted to take off.

When Q Pootle 5's spaceship breaks down in space it dives towards Okidoki and crash lands in the desert. Back at his house a forlorn Pootle tells Oopsy that he is thinking of getting a new spaceship. Oopsy is shocked at the thought and tries to persude Pootle to think again. However, Pootle has decided and starts his quest for a new spaceship by trying out his friends spaceships.

Eddi dashes off to find some presents for Ray, meanwhile Groobie writes a birthday song for Ray and sings it to Bud-D.

As the friends stargaze under a beautiful sky the rumbly grumbly noise begin - but it comes from a very familiar place.

Q Pootle 5 and his friends try to cure the spaceship of what is a very strange case of hiccups. They try rubbing its back, hanging upside down, even balancing something on its nose, but nothing seems to work. Inspiration strikes Pootle, maybe Planet Dave can help?

When Groobie's new magnet arrives (the Galacto 9000XL) he is very excited and he immediately sets off for Q Pootle 5's house to pick up an old rocket motor. However, Groobie hasn't realised that he accidentally switched the magnet on before setting off, and it is now picking up anything metal along the way - including Stella's watering can and Eddi's biphonium.

When Q Pootle 5 returns to Okidoki he brings with him his friend Roy. Roy is a major bird like Ray, but unlike Ray, Roy is polite, helpful, a good dancer and can play the piano too! Ray can't stand Roy's presence, and does everything he can to get rid of him. At bed time, Ray refuses to share his perch with Roy and angrily stumps off to sleep outside.

Stella returns from a trip in space with some special space seeds, and she gives one each to all her friends. Stella, is disappointed that her own seed only produces a small spindly stem, and similarly Pootle, Oopsy and Groobie don't fare much better. But, mysteriously, Eddi's plant is flourishing - he has been singing as he repairs his spaceship and the plants grow when they hear music!

But his first customers, Stella and Ray, end up stuck inside the malfunctioning machine, and then Eddi gets stuck, trying to get them out. It's up to Q Pootle 5 to find a way to free Eddi. Once he's free, Groobie immediately has a new use for his spacewash, a fly-thru hair salon!

Q Pootle 5 and his friends all find various bits of a machine that have dropped out of the sky. Q Pootle 5 realises that all the parts are from a satellite that has fallen from space. Whilst Pootle, Groobie, Stella, Eddi and Bud-D have a wonderful time trying to locate the rare flower, Oopsy not only finds it, but also draws a lovely picture of it. When Oopsy shows her friends where she discovered it, the flowers aren't there.

But then she discovers Ray stuck up a tree.

Q Pootle 5 has the brilliant idea of asking Bud-D to look after Ray so Stella can enjoy her flying. But Bud-D isn't quite sure how to get Ray to sleep.

Soon everybody wants to get in on Bud-D's masterpiece, but Pootle notices that Oopsy has disappeared. Pootle searches for her, and finds that her backwards antics had lead her into a crater.

When Oopsy sees a comet hurtling dangerously towards Okidoki, she gets everyone to evacuate to Planet Dave. Q Pootle 5 has a plan to stop the asteroid, but it turns out not to be as big as Oopsy thought it was. But, it could still mess up Stella's moon marrows, so a tennis net, baseball mit and some long johns are brought in to save the day.

The enthusiastic duo lay on a whole range of exciting (but exhausting) activities, but pretty soon Ray has had enough of all this exertion. When the opportunity to play hide and seek presents itself Ray disappears. Pootle and Oopsy search the whole of Okidoki, but they can't find Ray.

When Groobie has an accident in his spaceship on Planet Dave, he loses his confidence and refuses to fly anymore. The ever-faithful Bud-D takes over the delivery of parcels, but gets in a muddle and everybody ends up with the wrong things. Q Pootle 5 has the idea to stage a rescue (in which Oopsy is 'stranded' in deep space) and only because his spaceship is broken only Groobie can rescue her.

Everyone is having fun at the sports day - except Eddi. Having two heads has its drawbacks when attempting to skip and limbo dance. Depressed at his lack of success Eddi slopes off and nobody can find him. Pootle and Oopsy find him and show him that he actually can be good at the games!

Pootle helps Stella with a spot of gardening and to speed things up they use Stella's Galacto Planter 2000. Meanwhile Oopsy has a new hairstyle, which makes Dave wish that he, too, could have a new look. Using the Galacto Planter 2000 Pootle gives Dave the makeover of the millennium.

As Pootle and Oopsy go off on an astronaut hunt they discover other people's things have gone missing - and Ray! The mystery is solved when they find Ray, in a makeshift nest, attempting to hatch the missing astronaut.

But when the enthusiastic robot flamboyantly attempts to mix an Astro Fizzbuzz for Q Pootle 5 he gets splashed with fizzbuzz juice, causing his circuits to malfunction and turning him into a very bossy robot indeed! It's up to Pootle to find a way to fix Bud-D.

The solution to both problems is for Pootle to enlist all his friends to come and help get the painting done quickly.
