In the sixth episode of Restoration Wild season 1, entitled "Harvest Moon Saloon," the team is tasked with restoring an old saloon in the desert. The building, dating back to the late 1800s, was once a popular watering hole for cowboys and miners passing through the area. However, it has fallen into disrepair over the years and is in serious need of restoration.
The team, led by restoration expert Jay Chaikin, begins by assessing the damage and formulating a plan for the restoration. They quickly discover that the building's foundation is unstable and will need to be reinforced before any further work can be done. They also find that the original wooden floors are badly warped and rotting, and will need to be replaced entirely.
As they begin work on the foundation, they discover that the building is actually much older than they previously thought. They uncover a hidden basement beneath the saloon, which is filled with artifacts from the early days of the frontier. Among the treasures are old mining equipment, antique bottles, and even a rusted revolver.
As the team continues to work on the restoration, they face a number of challenges, including extreme heat, difficult terrain, and unexpected setbacks. They also have to contend with a number of unexpected visitors, including wild animals and curious locals who remember the saloon from their youth.
Despite these obstacles, the team perseveres, and the end result is a beautifully restored saloon that looks just as it did in the late 1800s. The building is now a popular tourist attraction, and visitors can step back in time and experience a piece of the Wild West for themselves.
