Ep 2. Purl

"SparkShorts" is a series of short films produced by Pixar Animation Studio. "Purl" is the second episode of the first season of this series. It is a story about a pink ball of yarn named Purl.

The story begins with Purl arriving at her new workplace, a male-dominated company called B.R.O. Capital. Purl is eager to fit in and do her job well, but she quickly realizes that the environment is unwelcoming and hostile towards female employees. Her male colleagues dismiss her ideas and exclude her from their social circle at work. She feels like an outsider and it makes her very uncomfortable.

However, once they realize that Purl is actually a ball of yarn, they suddenly turn on her. They treat her with ridicule and contempt, and Purl is once again an outcast. She feels betrayed and confused by their actions, and she decides to leave the company.

Before she goes, Purl has a heart-to-heart conversation with another ball of yarn named Lacy. Lacy reassures her that there are other companies out there that will value her for who she is and that she doesn't have to change herself to fit in. This conversation helps Purl to see that she doesn't have to sacrifice her individuality in order to succeed.

In the end, Purl decides to start her own company with other balls of yarn who have also experienced discrimination in the workplace. Their success proves that diversity and inclusivity are important for creating a successful and innovative team.
