Ep 1. set up/stand up

In The God of High School season 1 episode 1, titled "set up/stand up," viewers are introduced to our main character, Jin Mori. Jin is a 17-year-old high school student who is incredibly skilled in martial arts. He dreams of becoming the strongest fighter in the world, but currently spends his days participating in street fights for fun.

As the episode begins, Jin is preparing for a big tournament called The God of High School. The tournament is open to high school students all over South Korea, and the winner gets their wish granted by the tournament's sponsor. Jin's goal is to win the tournament so he can have his wish granted: to fight the strongest opponent in the world.

On his way to the tournament, Jin runs into two other high school students who will also be participating in the tournament: Han Daewi and Yoo Mira. Han is a skilled fighter who hopes to use the tournament's prize money to pay for his friend's surgery. Mira is a member of a powerful martial arts family that has fallen on hard times, and hopes to restore their legacy by winning the tournament.

Once they arrive at the tournament, the trio is greeted by a massive crowd of spectators and fellow competitors. They quickly discover that there are no rules in this tournament – anything goes as long as you can defeat your opponent. This includes weapons and even supernatural powers.

The first round of the tournament begins, and the trio is split up into separate brackets. Jin easily defeats his opponent, drawing the attention of a mysterious figure watching from the sidelines. Han also wins his first match, but Mira loses to a powerful fighter named Mah Miseon.

As the trio prepares for the second round, they are approached by a man named Commissioner O. He tells them that they have caught the eye of the tournament's sponsor, Park Mujin, and invites them to dinner. Park reveals that his true goal for the tournament is to find a worthy candidate to become the God of High School, a being with the power to control the world.

The second round begins, and we see the trio's opponents using increasingly dangerous tactics. Jin faces off against a group of fighters who use weapons and explosives, but manages to defeat them all with his bare hands. Han faces a tough opponent named Taek Jegal, but ultimately comes out on top. Mira faces off against a fighter named Q who is revealed to be a clone created by a powerful corporation.

As the episode comes to a close, we see that something sinister is brewing behind the scenes. A group of powerful organizations are conspiring to manipulate the outcome of The God of High School tournament in order to gain control of the world. Meanwhile, the trio is left to wonder just how far they'll have to go in order to win the tournament and have their wishes granted.
