Alice Rohrwacher's We Are Who We Are is a coming-of-age series that follows the adventures of two American teenagers as they navigate their way through adolescence on an army base in Italy. In season 1 episode 5, titled "Right here, right now #5," tensions are high as the characters deal with issues surrounding race, gender, and sexuality.

Fraser (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Caitlin (Jordan Kristine Seamón) are still trying to figure out their feelings for each other. As they spend more time together, Fraser becomes increasingly self-conscious about his own sexuality, while Caitlin tries to navigate the complexities of her relationship with her girlfriend, Sam (Ben Taylor).

Meanwhile, Danny (Spence Moore II) is struggling to fit in with the other soldiers on the base. He feels ostracized by his white counterparts and is constantly made to feel like an outsider. Danny's situation is made worse when he witnesses a confrontation between two soldiers outside the base. The incident leads to a heated discussion about race and identity within the group, with Danny at the center of it all.

As tensions rise, Sarah (Chloe Sevigny) and Richard (Kid Cudi) try to keep the peace, but they are soon pulled into the drama themselves. Sarah struggles to reconcile her own desires with her responsibilities as a mother, while Richard's past continues to haunt him.

Throughout the episode, the characters grapple with their own identities and the difficult choices that come with growing up. We Are Who We Are continues to explore complex themes in an intimate and thought-provoking way, offering a unique perspective on the teenage experience.
