We'll Meet Again season 1 episode 3 is titled "Lost Children of Vietnam." The episode takes viewers to a tumultuous time in history, the Vietnam War, when thousands of children were orphaned and left homeless. Many of these children were fathered by American soldiers and abandoned by their Vietnamese mothers. The show follows the journeys of two individuals, Loring Bailey Jr. and Opal Singleton, who were separated from their Vietnamese children during the war.

Bailey was a soldier in Vietnam who fathered a daughter with a local woman. After the war ended, he made numerous efforts to locate his daughter, but was unsuccessful. He eventually settled in the United States and went on to become a successful businessman. Now in his 70s, Bailey is determined to find his daughter before it's too late. Through the help of a Vietnamese-American organization, he embarks on a journey to Vietnam to track down his daughter.

Singleton, on the other hand, was a civilian volunteer working in an orphanage in Vietnam during the war. She formed a close bond with two children, a brother and sister, who she hoped to adopt and bring back to the United States. However, due to the chaotic situation at the time, the adoption never went through and Singleton was forced to leave Vietnam without the children. Now, decades later, she wants to find out what happened to them and if they are still alive.

The episode takes viewers on an emotional rollercoaster as Bailey and Singleton make their journeys to Vietnam. They meet with multiple people and organizations in their quest for answers and closure. Along the way, they're faced with obstacles, such as language barriers, bureaucratic red tape, and the harsh realities of a country still recovering from war.

Viewers are introduced to a variety of individuals who are working tirelessly to reunite families separated by war. Among them are a Vietnamese woman who works as a translator for American veterans, a social worker who helps search for lost children, and an organization that connects mixed-race children with their American fathers. It becomes clear that the efforts of these individuals are imperative in helping families find closure and healing wounds that were inflicted decades ago.

"Lost Children of Vietnam" shows the impact of war on families and the importance of hope and resilience in the face of hardship. The episode is filled with emotional moments as Bailey and Singleton meet with individuals who could hold the key to their past. Ultimately, both individuals find some degree of resolution in their journeys and viewers are left with a sense of hope that families can be reunited, even after decades of separation.
